Two new Tortrix species in Burry Port

I collected an attractive large Tortrix from the trap which I believe is Chequered Fruit Tree Tortrix.

I was thrown by another Tortrix, less than half the size of the one above, quite strongly marked and with bright red eyes. Could it be a male Rose Tortrix?
Also notable were FFY Honeysuckle Moth and Canary-shouldered Thorn.

  1. That second Tortrix had its beady eye on you, Adam! If it weren't for that strange feature I'd put it down as a Dark FTT which I'm getting quite regularly.

    1. It's only about 9mm long, dwarfed by the bigger Fruit Tree tortrixes. The eyes are freaky!
