Butterflies at Maenol

Loads of them on the buddleia these past two days, mostly Small Tortoiseshells, Red Admirals (seem to be having a bumper year), Peacocks, and the occasional Painted Lady.  This morning brought along a stranger though, one I haven't seen here before:

I believe that it's a Silver-washed Fritillary, perhaps someone will correct me if I'm wrong.  Sadly it didn't let me get a better photo of its underside.

  1. Looks like Silver-washed to me. It's a big butterfly so can't be much else.

    1. Thanks Adam. At first sight it appeared green and I thought Dark Green Frit. but the wing markings aren't right. We're a little distant from the sort of woodland habitat I associate with SWF.
