Some different moths turn up...

As mentioned before, the moth-catch can vary from night-to-night, with some additional species making an appearance last night (Thurs, 22/7).

Above: for the first time this year, the female four-spotted footmen starting turning up; hitherto it had been only the male moths.
A pristine phoenix reminded me how attractive (and large) this geometrid is.
Above: this small china-mark (a garden first, I think) makes a change from the more usual ringed china-marks.
Above: a couple more leopards made an appearance last night. Here is one with a black arches for company.
Above: this longhorn beetle Arhopalus rusticus was in one trap. It is associated with pines.

I still have some micro-moths to check...

  1. I had 41 species last night, 20 of which were different from my previous trap.
