Most of my traps this year have been pretty thin, with a smattering of Hebrew Characters and Common Quakers. Last night's trap was in no way spectacular but did have two new lifers for me, which was a surprise.
This Streamer made its escape before I could do better than this record shot.Best of all was this (Pine) Beauty:
And my first for the year Brindled Beauty.
Good for you, Adam - always good to get something brand new. The streamer is a real beauty, isn't it? I don't know about the Pine Beauty: I've been mothing for over 30 years and still haven't seen one! Trapping last night at Ffairfach was pretty dismal; 10 moths of 7 species.
ReplyDeleteI had my first PB last April Steve so there's hope yet. Last night was not too bad, mostly Hebrew Characters and Agonopterix sp. (probably A.heracliana) and a FFY Red Sword-fish. I will probably try again tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteGood luck chaps, tonight is looking good.
ReplyDeleteWell done Adam.
ReplyDeleteI trapped the same night but my moths were surprisingly `thin` though with FFY v-pug.
