Another Maenol Thursday

Thursday nights continue to blossom here (sadly not with underwings though), 130 moths of 27 species visited two actinic traps.  My first Lobster Moth of the year tried to scale the 6w actinic tube but got stuck at the bottom:

Other FFYs were Common Pug, Grey Birch, Pebble Prominent, Powdered Quaker, and the micros Agonopterix arenella, Dyseriocrania subpurpurella (snap, Ian!) and Semioscopis steinkellneriana:

                D.subpurpurella                              S.steinkellneriana

A package has just arrived on my doorstep, I believe that it contains a Robinson moth trap.  All being well I will be trying it out soon, possibly next Thursday.

  1. Looking forward to many reports of great success with the new Robinson trap. Is it going to MV, or Actinic?
