I`m stuck!...

Any suggestions for this one please? Caught in my garden trap on Saturday night (1/6). Its face is black and size is just over 0.75 cm. Thanks.

  1. I am useless at Tortricids, but it looks ever so much like the photo of Spilonota laricana on page 148 of CMM's 2nd Edition. Have you got larch nearby?

  2. Thanks Steve. I`m really glad that you said that species, as it`s on my shortlist but I`ve been caught out by suggesting that one before. With luck others may give an opinion.

  3. PS. and I forgot say that there are larches nearby.

  4. I`ve also now remembered (after reading up about it) that the issue I had before (back in 2017) re laricana was that it really needs dissection to differentiate from the commoner ocellana, even though my (since released) specimen looks like the latter.

  5. Yes I think it will have to go down as ocellana/laricana.
