Hypsopygia glaucinalis

Had this in the trap last night, Hypsopygia glaucinalis, I think I've got the id correct.
Of interest?

  1. There can't be much doubt about the id, Jane. Not many previous Carms records and it's not on my recording spreadsheet, so it must be a good one. Well done indeed.

  2. Looking back, I had one last year too. Apparently they are found in Squirrel dreys, among other places. My husband will be interested as he traps greys all winter for Mid Wales Red Squirrel Partnership.

  3. This species only arrived in Carms a couple of years ago, but it seems to have colonised successfully and there have been several recent records.

  4. Incidentally, it`s down as the synonym Orthopygia glaucinalis on the latest (2016) Carms list.

  5. I wonder whether I'm using the latest Excel spreadsheet because it doesn't list Bradley no.1415 (Hypsopygia/Orthopygia glaucinalis) yet it's clearly being recorded by some of the Group. I believe that my sheet is dated 2014. Not that I can change sheets before the year's end!
