I popped down the garden for some fresh fruit and out of the currant bush popped a grey coloured Chevron, new tick for garden.
A large dragonfly hawking the ferns further down the garden turned out to be a male Southern Hawker which soon returned to the territorial pond.
I went back in for my camera and another first for year was a male Brimstone butterfly on one of my mid-season flowering seed yourself everywhere buddleia plants. I was beginning to think that it didn't occur in this area.
Interesting re brimstone. It is frequent in extreme SE Carms but rare elsewhere.
