Please help!

I netted the two individuals (shown below) while walking the dogs this afternoon. We were on the edge of a hay meadow, next to an unruly mixed hedge, near our wetland. My guess is that perhaps they may be Cnephasia sp., but I've no experience of these. I realise that they probably cannot be narrowed down to species, if they are of the genus I've suggested - I would be happy to settle for that. Or are they something completely different that I have overlooked? Your thoughts  would be very much appreciated.

  1. You are correct - Cnephasia. They`ll need to be gen. det to species, I suspect.

  2. I had the same dilemma on Thursday morning, Steve, had one in the catch exactly like your first image, spent ages trying to get a good photo, then suddenly it came to me - yesterday - of course, Grey Tortrix! I've kept mine for gen. det. when I finally get around to more practice, likely as not it'll be not until Autumn.

  3. I'm indebted to you both - many thanks. I shall regard
them as identified to genus only.
