Salem

As with most of you, I couldn't compete with Sam's epic but my catch was more in line with Chris's with 52 moths of 23 species attracted to my MV with most of them outside (meaning I have to get up at 4 to get the moths before the magpies who are nesting above my regular trap site...).

8 species new for the year including my first hawkmoth of 2015 (poplar), a pristine gold spot, 3 cinnabars (the first time I've caught them here, I believe), clouded border, green carpet and marbled brown. Only a couple of micros: Pseudoswammerdamia combinella and my first Crambid of the year. I always struggle with these but is this one Scoparia ambigualis?
