Conditions seemed quite favourable yesterday evening, mild and overcast, but it became cool and clear during the night which may account for the poor moth turn-out. Only 4 moths entered the small actinic trap: Hebrew Character, Buff Ermine (FFY), Agonopterix heracliana, and a grey micro which looks to me like Pseudoswammerdamia combinella.
A diurnal discovery yesterday evening, fluttering around in the back yard, was the pretty Crambid Pyrausta purpuralis, which I don't recall seeing here before.
Your i/d of the `grey micro` looks fine to me, Chris.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ian. I have had P. combinella before, last year I think.
