A Tyrwaun Postscript....

Obviously, I was n`t particularly diligent when I went through the moths in my traps earlier this morning. The following two moths (and a few commoner ones) were still lurking in my Furnace Quarry trap when I put the traps `ready for next time` (all egg cartons tidied up and placed etc) in my shed about 10 minutes ago.

  1. I think that's a melanic Engrailed rather than Square Spot - the markings don't look quite right for SS (esp. the wavy white line on the hindwing). Also, it looks pretty worn whereas SS would be very fresh out at this time of year.
