Living in the past

I've found some archived photos that I thought were gone for ever, including this footman pic which I believe was made in 2003. While it's all clear on the trapping front (due to rather disappointing overnight temperatures), I wondered if anyone could utilise this frustrating down time to test their ID skills and determine which species it may be. Your assistance will be appreciated (although, not in any tangible way). The moth was captured at Cwmllwyd.

  1. I would make a stab at Buff Footman, cause it's got that flattened look.

  2. I think you're probably right, Mel - so that's one point to you, plus a bonus point for being the first to respond! Many thanks.

  3. I'm itching to do some trapping but the weather is so cold at night, so I'm getting my moth fix through others, you must be way ahead of me on points as you've caught some this year :-(

  4. The forecast for Fri night/Sat currently looks ok for trapping Mel. Best to re-check the Met Office forecast though, in case things change.
