It's the early bird who catches the .....

On Tuesday night, at about 22.30, I saw a moth that was attracted to the house lights. Very active it was and I was unable to catch it. Sad old fool that I am, I decided to put out the MV trap last night, close to the house, hoping that the little blighter might return. There was nothing in the trap at 06.30 this morning. However, on the adjacent wall of the house, basking in the light from the trap, I found this:

Early Moth

so, worth the effort, I think.

Edit: 1st photo taken before dawn using ring flash - colours not quite accurate.
          2nd shot in daylight.

  1. There`s another `old fool` who put the trap out - last night here at Pwll and, believe it or not, I was going to use exactly the same title as you! I`ll have to think of something else now!
I had three species of moth - just one in the trap and two spp on the adjacent wall. I`ll blog with pics later!
