Llangain moths
Help with these two please, trapped on 28th July. Many thanks as usual.
Sorry you ended up doing those, George: I spent ages on the top one yesterday before concluding it couldn't be anything other than Holly T, but then didn't get round to commenting.
First one looks like a well marked Holly Tortrix, Rhopobota naevana. The pinched wingtips are a good pointer for that species.
ReplyDeleteThe second one might well be just a very worn individual of the same species.
Great stuff, the second one has caused me a headache. Knowledge is a wonderful thing!
