Cnwc light 16th September

15 species to the porch light here last night.  Acleris variegana was the prettiest of the lot.

Please don't get dispirited by the reduced variety of moths in autumn: that's just the nature of moth trapping.  Several of the autumn specials are really attractive, eg Merveille du Jour and various Chestnutty/Bricky jobs; there's a really good chance of immigrants brighting up the trap; there are fewer moths to sort through so it doesn't have to take you all morning; and dawn is late, so tiredness can be avoided.  It's all good!!!
