Trapped in usual place the night before last and had 68 different macro species in the trap plus numerous micros - identified 8 of these. Nothing I had not had before - first for this season were Rosy Footman, Iron Prominent, Small Fan-footed Wave, Green Pug, Sharp-angled Carpet, Cloaked Carpet, Snout, Dark Spectacle, Fan Foot, Purple Clay, Dot Moth, Triple-spotted Clay, Tawny-barred Angle, Single-dotted Wave, Coronet, Common Wainscott and Poplar Grey.
In our fields I saw numerous Narrow-bordered Five Spot Burnett, a July Highflyer and lots of Brown China Marks plus hundreds of unidentified micros.
Last night I tried trapping just inside a large 'glass' conservatory in front of a very large window. Only 13 species but it was much colder plus 2 micros.
I will submit these results for Moth Night(s).
Well done Sally. Sharp-angled Carpet is a good one.
ReplyDeleteNarrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet would be new for Carms. I'm sure yours will be Five-spot.
Yes, thanks Sam you are correct re Burnett - I got confused, really sorry!
