I offered to help Ali & Gordon Baird identify their moths this morning: I was too tired to trap myself but got the thrill of sorting through a full trap! They had somewhere in the region of 100 spp to an Actinic set in the entrance to their garage.
Macro highlights were (from memory) 25+ Elephant Hawks, 10+ Garden Tiger, 10+ Double-line, 1 Lesser Cream Wave, 1 Waved Carpet, 1 Scarce Silver-lines, 1 Campion, 1 Wormwood Pug, and several Green Arches & Grey Arches.
1 Lesser Wax-moth (12th Carms record), 1 Dioryctria abietella (photo above), 1 Strophedra nitidana (3rd Carms record; well IDed Ali!), 2 Batrachedra praeangusta, 1 Blastodacna hellerana & 1 Argyresthia conjugella.
All pretty brilliant really!
