Moths Galore! - a quick comment

I had three traps out last night (25/7/14); two east of Burry Port and one in Stradey Woods. Moths were in great quantity and some good records were made - I was three hours just collecting the three traps and noting the contents, from c 5.00am to 8.00am, and I have many in pots in the fridge, awaiting `processing` - i/d and photography. It`s really worth trapping at present, wherever you are!
I have got a lot to do today, so I may not blog about the moth results until tomorrow or even later. I`ll probably have a bit of a rest tonight and only trap at home, but I`ll be out again somewhere on Sunday night. If any of you can, try a different site to trap at - a friend`s home in a different habitat or a different 10km square - you won`t regret it! It`s nice to catch something different.

Above: view from one of my trap sites, E of Burry Port, this morning. The broom in flower, incidentally, is Spartium junceum (Spanish broom) and not an unseasonal native broom.
