There were very good numbers of moths in the two garden traps last night, but not as good as Steve Clarke`s latest catch. I had intended to `trap out` last night - I really wish I had, but I was far too tired after a day hand-mixing concrete etc.
I had c40 spp, including red-necked footman, Brussels lace (FFY), coronet (FFY), barred red, poplar grey (FFY), grey arches (x4) and a lot of minor shoulder-knots (an early FFY).
Above: poplar grey, a rather scarce and local moth in Carms.
Above: barred red, a moth associated with conifers.
Above: `find me if you can`...the lichen-feeding Brussels lace.
I may trap `away from home ` tonight, as although the skies are clear, it`s going to be quite warm....we`ll see!
