40 species last night. First for year included lesser yellow underwing, white-spotted pug, first pebble hook-tip since 2008. I'm fairly certain this is a canary-shouldered thorn but would welcome other opinions (no kink on outer cross line; has mark between crosslines)
Yes, that's Canary-shouldered. The thorax is very bright compared with the wings, whereas thorax and wings are more unicolorous in August & September.
ReplyDeletethanks Sam, thought it looked like one. First since 2009 up here.
