Meal Moth serendipity

As I came out of the Llandeilo Bakery after buying lunch I noticed a little mothy shape on the wall outside.  It was a Meal Moth (Pyralis farinalis), which I'm guessing is pretty uncommon in Carms.  I wonder whether the bakery supports a colony and will have a surreptitious look next time I'm there!

Sorry for the ultra-poor I-Phone photograph!

  1. One of those lucky moments that we all get from time-to-time...well done!
Always worth carrying a container and/or camera around in urban situations. I got caught out last night [ie no container]....there was this moth that, at first glance looked [somehow, due to imagination] like a white satin, perched on my car in the Llanelli Asda car park. Luckily, my net was in the boot and it was gently wrapped up in that net.
However, by the time I`d got home, it had struggled and was very worn. Luckily -in a way- it was only a yellowtail when I checked it.
Moral- carry that container/tube/jam jar everywhere!
