I am!

Can anyone help please? Is this moth a confused or a common rustic or whatever? Fits the size of both spp in the texts and caught at Tyrwaun, Pwll last night, 5.7.13. I am confused/tired!...up at 5.00am.

Finally, as a change from moths, this little common groundhopper `hopped in` whilst I was taking the moth photos. The genus Tetrix is represented by three species in Britain (all of which occur in Carmarthenshire) and they are distinguished by the pronotum extending over the whole of the abdomen, as well as being smaller. They can occur throughout the year, including early in spring when there are no true grasshoppers around.

  1. That's a really difficult one Ian. There's too much of a W in the terminal line for either Common Rustic sp or Confused. I suspect that it's a Dusky Brocade.
