Another 5.00 am start to beat the persistent robin who sits on the trap looking hopeful.  58 species including first for year swallow-tailed moth, northern spinach, July highflier, antler, small dotted buff and satin beauty. Top 3 were coronet (13), buff arches (10) and triple-spotted clay (8).

  1. Mat, I don't suppose that you have photos of any of your triple-spotted clays? I am getting a lot of what I think are double square-spots just now, but I've always been a bit hazy about the difference between the two (see my blog of last Monday July 15). It would be helpful if I could get some clarification.
