Look out for chimney sweepers!
Just checking the Glamorgan moth blog, I note that a chimney sweeper had been recorded in the last few days. There are several sites where this all-black, day-flying moth has been seen in Carms, including flower-rich grassland at Carmel, but there are no recent records- I think this is due to lack of recording rather than local extinctions. It is said to feed (ie its larvae) on Conopodium (`groundnut`), a local umbellifer on more neutral or base-rich soils in Carms., though I`ve read somewhere that it can occur at sites without this plant. Anyway, look out for this moth....like a little blackish butterfly.
